UCI Graduation Ceremony
United Career Institute held a graduation ceremony on April 22, 2022, for medical assisting and practical nursing graduates. We celebrated the graduates who completed their programs from June 29, 2021, to March 27, 2022.
The ceremony began with the pinning of practical nursing graduates. Graduates choose a person important in their life to pin them. After the pinning was complete, the practical nursing graduates then recited the Florence Nightingale pledge and continued the tradition of lighting the lamps.
After the nursing pinning ceremony was complete, medical assisting and practical nursing graduates were presented their degrees by UCI faculty. After all the graduates received their degrees, the campus president then conferred the degrees.
During the ceremony, Marcy Landman, Nursing Program Director, encouraged the students by saying, “I want you all to look for opportunities; look for growth; look for impact; look for mission. Build your skills, not your resume. Evaluate what you can do, not the title they are going to give you. Life is a wonderful journey, a course you set and determined by the choices you make each day. So as you step out to meet the world with your mind prepared and your skills tuned, I urge you to set your direction with a positive attitude and a strong spirit.”
Graduation ceremonies are the culmination of hard work and dedication by graduates. This is also a time to acknowledge the family, friends, faculty, staff, and others who supported the graduates during their educational journey.
