Meet Practical Nursing Graduate Jessica Franklin!
Practical Nursing graduate, Jessica Franklin, graduated on June 26, 2022. Jess says her favorite part about her time at United Career Institute was “meeting new people and getting to know the staff.” She says she misses seeing her friends and teachers every day. United Career Institute strives to create a highly inclusive environment where students are encouraged to work together. Students come from all different backgrounds and career paths—each brings a wealth of knowledge from their prior education and work experiences. We love seeing our students build professional relationships and learn from one another.
United Career Institute loves hearing from our graduates about how post-grad life is treating them. Since completing the accelerated Practical Nursing program, she began working at the Westmoreland County Prison. She loves what she does because every day is a different adventure. She says, “I love my new job… it’s a very interesting job.” She is excited to have a position that will work around her schedule while returning to school. Her current goal is to advance in the medical field by becoming a Registered Nurse. She would love to continue working at the prison as an RN or possibly work in an emergency room setting. We know Jess is capable of anything she puts her mind to.
When asked what she is most thankful for in her education and career, Jess said, “I am thankful that I got the education needed to provide a better life for my family and myself. Without this education, I would be stuck at a regular 9-5 job living paycheck to paycheck.” Our purpose at United Career Institute is to empower change by creating opportunities. Jess experienced this firsthand and has taken advantage of our program to better her life. We are thrilled to see her succeed in the medical field and excited to see her next steps.
Jess says her best advice for those considering United Career Institute’s Practical Nursing program is to “enjoy everything even if it feels like things are not going how you planned them, go with the flow and have fun.”
