Practical Nursing Student – Cassie Kocsis
Cassie Kocsis is a practical nursing student at United Career Institute. She is nearing the end of her program and will be graduating at the end of June. Instructors describe Cassie as a helpful leader with a positive mindset and a never-ending drive to care for those around her.
During the height of the pandemic, Cassie found herself unemployed, as did many people. She worked as a server in a small diner, which was forced to close its doors. Cassie has wanted to be a nurse for as long as she can remember. She decided to take advantage of her newly found free time by going to school to achieve that dream. She said, “I figured what better time than now?” She began the Practical Nursing program at United Career Institute in June 2021. She chose this program “for a chance at a fulfilling career” and to allow herself to reach her goals.
Her choice to attend United Career Institute was an easy one, and she loves that the campus is conveniently located close to home. She also said, “I needed a fast track program to get into a working field in a reasonable amount of time.” Our Practical Nursing program is 12 months long, allowing people to get an education and start working quickly. She ultimately made her decision when she learned about the impressive NCLEX-PN* pass rates at United Career Institute.
After graduation, Cassie plans to get a job working in the prison system and eventually go back to school for her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Not only will she take with her the knowledge she’s gained at United Career Institute, but also the lifelong friends she has made along the way!
