UCI Celebrated its annual Graduation

United Career Institute hosted a graduation ceremony on July 8, 2022, at the Science Hall Theatre at West Moreland Community College. UCI honored thirteen practical nursing graduates, three medical assisting graduates, and one phlebotomy graduate who completed their programs from March 2022 to June 2022. It was a wonderful evening celebrating the graduates’ accomplishments with family, friends, and the dedicated staff that helped them reach their goals.

The event started with the pinning ceremony for practical nursing graduates. Loved ones were asked to join the graduates on stage to present them with a United Career Institute practical nursing pin. This gave the graduates a moment to thank the people who supported them throughout their time at UCI. Afterward, practical nursing graduates recited the Florence Nightingale pledge and completed the tradition of lighting the lamps.

After the lighting of the lamps, all graduates were presented with their diplomas by the faculty and staff of UCI. Once the graduates received their diplomas, they were conferred by Samantha Esposito, campus president.

Practical Nursing Program Director, Marcy Landman, drew light on the opportunities the graduates had created for themselves by completing their education. She said, “Your future is yours. Today you have broken the chains that bound you…You can leave the past behind. Today your life begins. Graduation marks the end of one chapter and the start of an exciting new one.”

Graduation ceremonies are the culmination of hard work and dedication by graduates. This is also a time to acknowledge the family, friends, faculty, staff, and others who supported the graduates during their educational journey. Most importantly, it begins a new chapter with endless opportunities.
