Meet Practical Nursing Graduate
Matthew Brown!
Matthew Brown recently graduated from United Career Institute, where he completed the Practical Nursing program. Looking back on his time at UCI, he really misses the close-knit learning environment and small classroom sizes. These allowed students the opportunity to understand the material thoroughly and made interaction with the instructor more readily available.
Since graduating, Matthew has begun working in his field, focusing on substance use disorder. “UCI provided me with a fast-paced curriculum that trained me in adapting to constant-changing subjects. Over time, it became easier to connect the dots and develop clinical judgment.”
When asked about his long-term plans, Matthew said, “per my current trajectory, I would love to develop my career in working with substance use disorders/mental illness and begin a second career that compliments my nursing training.”
Matthew’s favorite part of attending the United Career Institute was the great memories he made, primarily due to the small class sizes. He made friends with mutual goals of bettering themselves and striving to be a competent nurses.
He would recommend the program to anyone serious about entering the nursing field. The 12-month program is a great investment and opens the door to many career opportunities. “UCI provided me with the proper introductory knowledge into the nursing field. I am grateful to have developed a strong backbone for this long-term journey.”
